Rangers and Rovers of Soundarya Composite PU College were part of World Environment Day on 17th June 2025 near Vidhana Soudha and a rally in the name ‘Parisara Nadige’ voicing for end plastic pollution . Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, together with Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre and top officials, led a spirited eco‑walk from Vidhana Soudha. Participants cycled, hoisted green flags, and took public pledges to protect the environment .
🧼 Plastic Pollution: Reverse‑Vending & District Monitoring
• The state launched reverse‑vending machines (RVMs) across cities, offering Re 1 per crushed plastic bottle to encourage recycling .
• Additionally, district‑level committees—led by Deputy Commissioners and local officials—have been formed to oversee single-use plastic water bottle sales, scientific disposal, and public awareness, meeting quarterly .
