The Department of Political science, in collaboration with Electoral Literacy club successfully organized a Mock Parliament Session on 25 july in the college auditorium. The event aimed to give students a platform to understand and experience the workings of parliamentary democracy in India.
The session began with a formal welcome address by yashaswini followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in the presence of our respected Principal, Mahabaleshwar Tunga,faculty members, and invited dignitaries. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Chinnamma Madam, Principal of Soundarya school who emphasized the importance of youth participation in democratic processes.
A total of 35 students actively participated, representing various political parties, including the Ruling Party, Opposition, and Independent Members. The session was presided over by a student Speaker, who maintained decorum and ensured parliamentary procedures were followed.
The event concluded with remarks from the Principal, who appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and knowledge of democratic principles. The success of the Mock Parliament was made possible through the guidance of faculty coordinators and the collective effort of the organizing committee.
