International Democracy Day

Soundarians participated on September 15,in an International Democracy Day displaying the accountability in the involvement of human rights. Under the leadership of Arjun GK the NSS Co Ordinator hundreds of students displayed the unity in promoting democracy role .
International Day of Democracy is observed annually on *September 15*. Established by the United Nations in 2007, this day promotes the principles of democracy, raising awareness of the importance of democratic governance, participation, and the rule of law. It encourages governments to strengthen and protect democratic institutions, and citizens to engage in democratic processes.
Each year, the UN and various organizations highlight key challenges and opportunities facing democracies, such as human rights, inclusion, transparency, and accountability. The theme often focuses on current global or regional issues, promoting democracy’s role in addressing them.
